Nothing remotely running-related to report, but I notice that the organisers of Interhash 2008 have inexplicably similar taste in music to Jim....
...speaking of which, only two more pointless space-fillers needed before we're rid of it...

Failure to launch

Last run: 2.5 miles. Days since last run: 16. Days to London Marathon: 173

Hmmmm. This is not looking like potential PB territory, is it? In fairness, I have been a little preoccupied in the past month, what with producing and maintaining The Spare (latest baby). More importantly, it's been five months since I've been able to hash, and until The Spare develops a reliable bedtime routine, I may find it difficult to capture a babysitter.

So I shall just have to substitute marathon training. My theory is to concentrate on developing a consistent 4/5 outings a week routine pre-christmas and worry about speed and distance for outings later. A few practical issues of combining motherhood and running: a) I'm reliaby informed that leaving The Spare alone at home while I go for a run consitutes neglect, and not, as I was hoping, a reasonable parenting tactic designed to foster independence, so it appears some sort of running buggy is in my future. Feel free to laugh at the high speed baglady appearance this will create. b) I now have the top half of some completely different woman so I need to buy more running bras. Preferably made from hawsers. c) In order to afford this outlay I shall probably have to sell either The Heir or The Spare. On a bad day both could be on the market on BOGOF.

Anyway, once I have overcome the cashflow crisis and the national sleep debt then I hope to be able to post some real running progress. Expect to see me reach the dizzying heights of a 3 miler soon...

The pain starts here...

Well, if that's what it takes to get rid of that blooody fanfare!

15 miles today, luvverly warm sunshine, the company of the University Hare and Hounds, and the entertainment of watching Ed blow up after 8 miles of chasing 22-yr-olds at a silly-old-pace. I doubt the weather will be as kind to us until next spring, so glad we made it out. I shall remember today when we're slogging through the freezing fog in the general direction of Ely...

Long live this Blog

Rumours of this blog's death are greatly exaggerated.

Paris 2007. Bigger. Bolder. Beerier. Is that a word? It is now! 1966. Nobby Stiles danicing. Jumpers for hash marks. But that's hashing. Isn't it?

Marvellous.

What is he on about? Well, there are, to date, about a thousand Cantab hashers signed up to do the 2007 Paris marathon. If they want to give their thoughts a vehicle, this blog will readily vehicularize.
